SoCo Amenity Interiors
London
Studio Multi was commissioned to develop an initial narrative and concept for the interiors at St Olav's Court, a new 19 storey co-living building in Rotherhithe, London.
The amenity areas cover four entire floors of the building and include large communal lounges, cooking areas, co-work space, cinema rooms, fitness suite and laundrette.
Rotherhithe was home to the Surrey Commercial Docks from 1696 to 1969 where the main import was timber from Scandinavia and the Baltics, and then eventually from North America. As a legacy of the former strong trade links to Scandinavia and the Baltic region, Rotherhithe is still home to a thriving Scandinavian community and to Norwegian, Finnish and Swedish churches, which were originally established as seafarer’s missions.
St Olav’s Court has a Nordic name and is sited in an area with strong links to Scandinavia. Our design concept reflects this.
